Eugene Grasset

EUGENE GRASSET (1841 - 1917)
Eugène Samuel was a Swiss graphic designer who worked in Paris during the belle époque. He was active in several sectors; although he became best known for designing books and typefaces, he also designed furniture and stained-glass windows, among other things.

He was active in several sectors; although he became best known for designing books and typefaces, he also designed furniture and stained-glass windows, among other things. He is considered a pioneer of art nouveau.
From 1877, he created many illustrations, fabrics and designed the famous signboard of the cabaret Le Chat Noir
