STILL LIFE WITH FILLED BEER MUG BY WILLEM CLAESZ HEDA
Original: oil on panel 62 x 44,5 cm bxh
Date : 1634
The painting shows a composition of a table laid with a dark green tablecloth with pewter plates, a peeled lemon, a half-full glass with the reflection of the window and a filled beer jug with lid and next to it some nuts.
Willem worked very realistically, often using the grey-green and silver colours and in this painting supplementing them with ochre yellow. His still lifes were often called "breakfast" or "banquet".
