INFORMATION
Original: oil on copper, W 19 x H 24.5
Date: 1625-1630
The painting shows a richly filled glass vase with flowers (including daffodils) and insects. It is very finely and carefully painted, as is the decoration at the bottom of the vase. This quantity of flowers in a vase was a sign of wealth, since flowers were still very rare in the 17th century and not for everyone's wallet.

The painting belongs to the collection of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
